Not only is the building of the Philharmonic in Szczecin a temple of music, but also home to broadly understood art. Inspiring architecture, geometric details, and harmonious design make each meeting with artists take on a new dimension. Here, music and design come together thanks to form, becoming the basis of events such as the MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM Festival. The fifth edition of the festival will harmoniously fill the philharmonic interiors and make us rediscover the beauty of music, art and architecture.

The building is unique in many ways. Architects from the Spanish studio Barozzi / Vega made every effort to consider the historical context in which the project was to be embedded. The soaring white building stands out from the surrounding area but, at the same time, forms a coherent line with its neo-gothic buildings. Additionally, the building has excellent acoustic parameters and enormous lighting possibilities. The white facade can shine with many colours in various configurations. This opportunity was used during the first edition of the MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM festival in September 2018 to its full potential for the first time.

In 2015, a year after its opening, the building of the Philharmonic in Szczecin was the first and only one in Poland to receive the prestigious Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture). This award, also known as the architectural Nobel Prize, is one of the most prestigious architectural awards in Europe.

After crossing the threshold of the building, we enter the world of design, which is by no means associated with standard philharmonic buildings. However, bold architectural solutions have a significant impact on sound quality. For example, the golden symphony hall can accommodate nearly 1,000 people. The unique geometry of the walls and ceilings, developed by architects and specialists in architectural acoustics, ensures an excellent musical experience. The Chamber Hall is also a "musical gem" – here, the reverberation time has been reduced to one-hundredth of a second.

The Philharmonic in Szczecin is not only about concert halls. The building also has many spaces, which on a daily basis, fulfil the roles assigned to them, and for the duration of the MDF festival, they change their function. It will be no different during the jubilee, the fifth edition of the MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM Festival. This year's theme – HARMONY – will allow us to delve into music, art, and design, but also ourselves, allowing us to become part of unforgettable events in an inspiring space.
